In Our Image

Out of dust, a person
Breath and open eyes
Standing in the morning
Under a wide sky

Made to bear a likeness
Clear for all to see
Not to rule by hurting
Called to tend and keep

In our image
Here you stand
Male and female, hand in hand
In our image
Take the care
Fish and birds and beasts to share
The earth is given, not a thing to break
Tend it, and let it live
In our image
Grow and flourish
Fill the land, and learn to give

Work that has a purpose
Rest when day is done
Every life around you
Counted, one by one

Strong enough to guard them
Gentle enough to wait
This is not a cruel reign
Care that carries weight

You were wanted from the first light
You were trusted with the rest
Likeness is a daily promise
Treat the small things like the great

In our image
Keep the likeness
Care for life, and carry weight
